What Child Protection Training do you or your staff require?

Currently in South Australia there are two primary training courses relative to Child Protection and the mandatory notification responsibility you or your staff may have in undertaking their role. These are:

  • Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education and Care (RRHAN-EC)

    • To work or volunteer in education and (child) care settings, this training is required. There are two stages, and depending on your role, you may be required to complete stage 1 (RRHAN-EC Fundamentals) or stages 1 and 2 (RRHAN-EC Masterclass).

    • This training has been developed by the Dept. for Education, together with Catholic Education SA (CESA) and the Association of Independent Schools SA (AISSA).

    • More information about the RRHAN-EC training can be found on the Dept. for Education RRHAN-EC site.

  • Child Safe Environments: Through their Eyes

    • If you and your staff work with children and young people aged under 18yrs, in a variety of environments which are considered ‘Child Related Employment’, by the Children and Young People’s (Safety) Act, 2017, outside of education and care settings, you will be required to undertake training in your mandated notification responsibilities, and this training would be recommended.

    • This training has been developed by the Dept. of Human Services (DHS) and the Dept. for Child Protection, and is overseen by DHS.

    • More information about the Child Safe Environments: Through their Eyes training can be found on the DHS Training - Safe Environments page.
