Whether you are an education or care service, a small NDIS provider, a country-based sporting club, a religious organisation or a city-based, allied health service for children, you all have something in common - the desire to provide children and young people in South Australia with skilled and caring adults who will recognise, support and acknowledge their capability, needs and development.
Utilise my experience and knowledge to help your organisation and staff achieve their Child Safe Organisation compliance requirements and child protection training needs.
National Child Safety training - Safeguarding Children
National child safety training is now mandatory for everybody working or volunteering in an ECEC service regulated under the NQF. The training is available only through Geccko – the Australian Government’s online learning platform for the ECEC sector.
The new national training will support all people involved in ECEC to meet their legal child safety obligations, strengthen safeguarding practice, and reduce harm to children. There are 2 components:
foundation training, available now
advanced training, available now.
The training has been developed by the Australian Centre for Child Protection (ACCP) in partnership with the Queensland Government, on behalf of all Australian states and territories and the Australian Government.
Do I need to complete this training?
If you work in early childhood - YES!
If you work in preschools/kindergartens - YES!
If you work in Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) - YES!
If you work in Family Day Care - YES!
But I’ve already completed the Safe Environments: TTE or RRHAN-EC training here in South Australia… YES! this new training is mandated by the Federal Government and need to be completed in addition to what you have already completed.
The RRHAN-EC 2024-2027 Fundamentals and Masterclass will be ending in 2027.
As of the middle of 2027, the new, updated version of the RRHAN-EC training - the 2027-2030 Fundamentals and Masterclass - will be available.
For those who currently hold the 2024-2027 Masterclass certificate, you will need to complete the Fundamentals as the update before Dec 31, 2027, in order for your certification to remain current. This training is the free, online, 2hr course.
If you have only completed the 2024-2027 Fundamentals due to your role, you will also need to update using the new Fundamentals update.
Even if you have only completed the Masterclass (or Fundamentals) in 2026, you will still need to update to the new training - this is part of the cycle of training with the Dept. for Education.
And if you get it done before the deadline, I won’t be seeing you in my RRHAN-EC Masterclass again.
